Many store cards, including the Sam's Club credit card, are issued by Synchrony Bank, which runs hundreds of different card programs. Connecting one is the same as any bank, but picking the right entry in the bank window matters.
What to do
- First, sign in to your card on the card's own website (the Manage your account link on Synchrony's page for your card). If that sign-in fails or asks you to reset something, sort that out first, because Forward connects with the same username and password.
- In Forward, open Accounts, tap +, and choose Connect a bank. In the search box, type the name of the card, such as Sam's Club, rather than only "Synchrony". Pick the entry for your card (for Sam's Club, one named like Sam's Club - Credit Card). If your card isn't listed, try Synchrony Mastercard.
- Sign in with your card's username and password, and finish any text or email verification.
- In Link accounts, pick the card and finish.
If it still won't connect
- Banks sometimes have an outage on their side that clears up in a day or so. Try again later or the next day.
- Some cards simply aren't available to connect. Nothing in your Forward account causes that, and it isn't a sign you did something wrong.
- You don't have to wait: download your transactions as a file from your card's website and bring them in with Import CSV. The steps are in Apple Card, and they work the same for any card or bank. Use Add account manually for the card, then Import CSV on its ··· menu.
If you'd like us to look into it, contact support with the card's name, the exact message you saw and roughly when. Never send your card's password.
See Connecting your bank for how a connection syncs, and what to do when an account asks you to reconnect.
